Playa Panama is located in the scenic Gulf of Papagayo in the Guanacaste Province, on the southern point of Culebra Bay. Panama Beach is situated at a very short distance away from Playa Hermosa. By Plane – The nearest airport with regular flight in Liberia, Costa Rica, From there you can take a taxi to bring you Playa Panama. This journey takes about 25 minutes and should cost you around $40 – $50.
By Car – Follow the directions for getting to Liberia and then head west toward Santa Cruz. The turnoff for the Papagayo Peninsula is prominently marked 8km (5 miles) south of the Liberia airport. At the corner here you will see a massive Do It Center hardware store and lumber yard. If you are going on to Playa Hermosa, continue on a little farther and, just past the village of Comunidad, turn right. In about 11km. you will come to a fork in the road; take the right fork. The drive takes about 4 1/2 hours from San José.
If you are going to Playa Panama, you can either take the paved roads all the way, by heading first to Playa Hermosa, and continuing on to Playa Panama. Or, you can take a dirt road shortcut that leads from a turnoff on the Papagayo Peninsula road, just beyond the Do It Center, directly to the beach here.
By Bus – An express bus leaves San Jose daily at 3pm from Calle 20 and Avenida 3, stopping at Playa Hermosa and Playa Panama.

Potrero Beach is an ideal location for the Costa Rican Beach vacation, plenty to offer in terms of activities and miles of beach to do everything, or just take rest at Playa Potrero, Costa Rica.
Playa Potrero is a located very near to the Playa Flamingo. It is a five minute walk from the wonderful Flamingo Beach. Follow the road signs to Playa del Coco and, almost two miles later, you will arrive at Playa del Coco’s main boulevard. This trip from San Jose will take approximately 5 hours, and the journey from Liberia will take just 35 minutes.

By Car: Driving from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez is roughly an 8 hour drive. It is recommended to leave early in the morning to avoid traveling at night as the roads can sometimes be deceitful. The roads are in good shapes but stretches sometime can be full of pothole and with narrow bridges and lack of any signs for direction. A 4-wheel drive car is recommended and it will make your trip enjoyable.
By Shuttle: Shuttle service is a shared transportation choice in an air-conditioned minibus between popular destinations. Shuttle routes operate daily, and in some cases there are multiple departure times throughout the day. However, shuttles are not a public bus. They are subject to availability and must make a reservation in it.
By Bus: From San Jose you can catch the daily bus service that departs from Transportes Blanco. The bus will take about 10 hours to reach Puerto Jimenez.
By Boat: You can also reach the Osa Peninsula via a boat from Golfito. There is a launch leaving from the public dock every day around 11:30. You can also choose from many private boat operators who will ferry you across the Golfo Dulce and take you to Puerto Jimenez.
You can get to Puerto Jimenez either by bus or car. However, it can be as long as a 10-hour drive so, it is better to fly in to the domestic airport out here from San Jose International Airport. Flights also come in to the airport here from Pavas as well.
